Latest hardware and software trends led to the development of a new revolutionary technology that enables flexible and lightning-fast analysis of massive amounts of enterprise data. The basic concepts and design principles of this technology are explained in detail. Beyond that, the implications of the underlying design principles for future enterprise applications and their development are discussed. Unbelievable things are possible and you will understand why this is true using an in-memory column-oriented database instead of a traditional row-oriented disk-based one.

For this first course, we actually started with material from an SAP internal two day class room training. We adjusted the format a little and added even more content to it. The result is a fairly deep and comprehensive look at the development activities involved in building SAP HANA Native Applications.
We will start simple with an introduction to the core architecture of SAP HANA and why that should matter to developers. The course then starts with the building of fundamental artifacts like schemas, tables, and other catalog objects. It will also cover HANA Views and SQLScript procedures. We then go onto new capabilities of the SAP HANA Application Services for writing procedural logic in server side JavaScript and creating OData services. We even cover quite a bit about SAPUI5 - particularly consuming HANA services in SAPUI5. Overall, we hope that everyone can come away from this online course feeling confident about build all different types of HANA applications.
